UP International College New Zealand Student Handbook
12 August 2025
Kia Ora,
Welcome to the UP International College New Zealand! We want you to succeed academically. Our goal is to help you learn as much as possible during your time here, so you can achieve your objectives and move on to further study. Thank you for joining us and trusting us to help you reach your goals.
The most important factor in Foundation success is your ability and willingness to use and develop your English skills. Remember that English is not just a subject (EAP)—it is a tool you will use in all your studies. You can develop your English both inside and outside of classes. Improving your reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills will make your tertiary-level learning easier and more enjoyable. I strongly encourage you to make our campus an English-only zone as much as possible.
At our college, we are passionate about education. Our values are built on a commitment to help students succeed in all areas of their lives. Over the past 25 years, we have helped thousands of students complete Foundation and successfully transition to the university.
This Handbook focuses on college life and answers many questions you might have - not only at the start of your course, but throughout the year.
We have many staff members ready to help you. Check this Handbook first for answers, but if you are unsure about anything, please ask any staff member. If they cannot help you directly, they will find someone who can.
Best wishes for your studies - work hard and success will follow!
Sincerely,
Julian Latimer
Principal – University Partnerships AU/NZ
